New Uses for Cochlear Implants

When  Your Hearing Aid Isn’t Enough, Consider Cochlear Implants

It used to be that Cochlear Implants were only for people suffering from total hearing loss. Not any more.

If your hearing aid is not providing enough sound, an implantable device may be an option. Cochlear implants are now available to more and more hearing impaired patients. You don’t have to be totally deaf to qualify for a Cochlear Implant. For many patients, Cochlear Implants work much better than regular hearing aids.
CNC Hearing Neurotologist Dr. Moises Arriaga and Nurse Practitioner Sarah McGuire welcomed guests to an open house at CNC Hearing’s new Mandeville Clinic.  Several people suffering from severe hearing loss attended, wanting to know more about how Cochear Implants, once used strictly in cases of total hearing loss, are now being implanted in patients who still have some hearing left.
